Using the upper body Ergometer

One piece of equipment in the Health & Fitness Center is an upper body ergometer. It kind of looks like a bike but has no wheels; it uses water for resistance, and is very underused! If anyone has been through physical rehab for a shoulder injury, post hip or knee surgery, or after a cardiac event of some type, you most likely have used this type of machine. This machine is a great cardio and strength workout. You can adjust the height of the handles to target mid to high chest or shoulders. You adjust the level of water to provide a minimal to maximal resistance thereby choosing a higher level cardio or a higher level of strength. We recommend using this piece of equipment to mix up your cardio routine or another element of strength. You will get a great workout!
